Another month, another post! I had origionally planned to do a breakdown of the State of the Union Address, however, I switched gears. This was because of time restraints due to traveling that I have been doing for work as of late. Also, I have been in communication with someone that is interested in having an interview with me and producing a monolog on a political subject. It’s very exciting stuff! Albeit, the interview and monologue won’t be published this month.
If you know any one that is willing to share their expert opinion with me and blog readers, please let me know.
In lieu of these posts I decided to draw something out from the Idea Vault. The previous post Essay: There’s No School For Life, is similar to a poem I wrote years ago and so I am posting it in the new Literature section under Featured Content. Here, I plan to post submitted pieces of literature that I think are worth reading, viewing, or listening.
This piece is written in Spanish and is called El Colibrí or The Hummingbird in English. It relates to last month’s post in that it takes you on a journey through the author’s thoughts. Initially you may have a bleak disposition about life but upon observing and challenging your own thinking, you arrive at a restructured view that is more optimisitc. The takeaway is the understanding that significance is warped by perception and the result can either be a hindrance or motivational. This understanding gives you some control by using perception as a tool rather than it being an unregulated influence in your life.
I do not have an English translation for the poem, but google translate does a good enough job for now. I hope you enjoy this piece, Thank You!
